Location: San Fernando, Trinidad.

Job Description: The Customs Clerk would be responsible for ensuring the timely execution of the import operations – mainly ocean freight, including customs system input and for managing the daily activities of the Customs / Logistics Department.

Requirements and Skills: 

• Owning a vehicle would be considered an asset.
• Grade 2 or 3 Customs Clerk License.
• Minimum 5 years experience working in the Customs field
• Must possess strong leadership attributes.
• Must be knowledgeable of the Customs and Excise laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
• Must be proficient in ASYCUDA & Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess sound communication skills (both written and oral)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all inbound logistics timelines and met
• Provides leadership support for the smooth functioning of the Customs Department.
• Ensures the proper classification of shipments.
• Ensures accurate duties and taxes are paid to the Customs and Excise.
• Ensures all import/export documents are submitted to the Customs & Excise promptly.
• Responsible for management of Demurrage and Customs Brokerage fees
• Prepare and submit applications for Import Licenses and Permits
• Ensures Security Bonds are maintained.
• Negotiate prices with Haulers.
