Duration: 6-month project with potential for permanency

Location: Trinidad and Tobago (field and hybrid)

Role Summary
At KVR Energy, safety, quality and environmental responsibility are at the core of how we operate. The HSSEQ & Sustainability Associate helps to embed these principles across the business – supporting a culture of operational excellence, accountability and continuous improvement throughout all divisions.
This cross-functional role spans KVR’s diverse operations, from engineering and field services to emissions management, inspection, data and sustainability programmes. You’ll help ensure that health, safety, environmental and quality standards are consistently upheld, while contributing to KVR’s broader sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional eager to grow at the intersection of HSSEQ, sustainability and operational performance – gaining exposure to both the operational and strategic sides of a fast-evolving technology and engineering company.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the implementation and monitoring of HSSEQ management systems, policies and procedures across all business divisions.
• Assist with risk assessments, site inspections, safety audits and toolbox talks, ensuring safe practices in both field and office settings.
• Participate in incident reporting, investigation and follow-up, promoting a culture of transparency and learning.
• Collaborate with project and engineering teams to integrate safety, environmental and quality considerations into daily operations and project design.
• Contribute to environmental and sustainability initiatives, including emissions reduction, waste management and energy efficiency.
• Track and report on HSSEQ and sustainability performance indicators, supporting internal dashboards and external client reporting.
• Assist with training, induction and awareness programmes that reinforce KVR’s culture of responsibility and continuous improvement.
• Support internal and external quality assurance activities to maintain compliance with client, legal and ISO requirements.
• Champion proactive engagement and innovation in driving safe, sustainable and high-performance operations across the business.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 0–3 years’ experience in HSSEQ, sustainability or environmental management within an industrial, utilities or engineering environment.
• Basic understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 frameworks.
• Excellent observation, analytical and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Excel-based reporting or dashboard tools is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with adaptability to work across diverse teams and environments.
• Genuine passion for sustainability, operational excellence and continuous learning.

Desirable
• Certification or training in OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO auditing, or risk management.
• Familiarity with ESG reporting, environmental metrics or sustainability data analysis.
• Experience supporting field or project-based operations.
• Exposure to corporate sustainability or HSE initiatives.

Development Pathway
This role is designed to evolve into a Corporate HSSEQ & Sustainability Advisor or Integrated Systems Coordinator, supporting KVR’s regional operations and strategic reporting.
Through mentorship and exposure to every part of the business, you’ll develop the practical, analytical and leadership skills to shape KVR’s future of safe, sustainable and high-performance operations across the Caribbean and beyond.
