Location: Black Rock, Tobago (Applicants must be residents of Tobago or willing to relocate from Trinidad)

Role Summary: Waves Restaurant is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to assist in leading kitchen operations. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in maintaining food quality, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation activities
  • Ensure dishes are prepared according to restaurant standards
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
  • Assist with menu planning and recipe development
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering of ingredients
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Sous Chef or senior cook
  • Certification or diploma in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery
  • Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage kitchen workflow
