A mall manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a shopping mall. Their main objective is to ensure that the mall runs smoothly and efficiently, providing a pleasant shopping experience for customers while maximizing profitability for the mall owners.

Experience: Atleast 3 years experience in commercial shopping management or similar related management experience.

A degree in Business Management is not required but will be consided as a asset.


Operations Management –

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the mall’s performance and profitability.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of mall staff, including security personnel, maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and administrative employees.
  • Oversee the leasing and management of retail spaces, ensuring high occupancy rates and managing tenant relationships.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute effective marketing and promotional campaigns to attract customers and boost sales.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the mall, ensuring it is well-maintained and meets all regulatory requirements.
Financial Management – 
  • Prepare and manage the mall’s annual budget, including revenue projections, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-control measures to optimize profitability.
  • Negotiate lease agreements and rental rates with tenants, ensuring fair and competitive terms.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, such as introducing new tenants, expanding existing stores, or implementing innovative concepts within the mall.

Security and Safety –

  • Oversee the implementation of comprehensive security measures, including surveillance systems, access control, and emergency response protocols.
  • Collaborate with security personnel and law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe and secure environment for shoppers, employees, and tenants.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Reporting and Communication –

  • Prepare regular reports on the mall’s performance, financial metrics, tenant occupancy, and customer feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with the mall owners, providing updates on key issues, proposed initiatives, and financial results.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as local authorities, community organizations, and neighboring businesses to build positive relationships and foster goodwill.
