Role Purpose: The Finance Manager is responsible for establishing financial discipline, transparency and control across the business. The role will lead financial reporting, cash management and internal controls, while supporting leadership with clear, reliable financial insight for decision-making.
This role is critical to strengthening governance and enabling sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Control & Reporting
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet)
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to leadership
• Maintain integrity of financial records and accounting processes
Cash Flow & Working Capital
• Manage cash flow, forecasting and liquidity planning
• Monitor receivables, payables and collections discipline
• Identify risks and propose corrective actions early
Governance & Controls
• Implement and enforce financial controls and approval processes
• Ensure proper documentation, audit trails and compliance
• Strengthen separation of duties and reduce informal practices
Budgeting & Planning
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
• Track actual vs budget and highlight variances
• Provide commercial insight into business performance
Team Oversight
• Supervise accounting/admin staff (including Accounting Coordinator)
• Set expectations for accuracy, timeliness and professionalism
• Address performance issues and build capability where needed
Skills & Experience:
Essential
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or near completion
• Strong experience in financial reporting and controls
• Experience managing or improving finance processes in a growing business
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to challenge and improve existing practices
Desirable
• Experience in engineering, technical, or project-based businesses
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
• Exposure to audit or compliance environments
